Purchase Television is a completely student run, on-campus television station at SUNY Purchase College. It plays on a closed-circuit on the Purchase College campus, airing on channel 69 and online at livestream.com/ptv69.
PTV is a campus service and operates with three departments: Live Tech, Programming, and Public Relations. Each department works together to allow the station to operate at its best, while also working dedicatedly in its own specialty area. Live Tech helps students produce their own shows to be aired live, while also filming at campus events and shows. Programming assists students with editing and planning their pre-recorded shows, while creating weekly airing schedules of all of our content. Finally, the Public Relations department stays busy advertising the schedules and shows, creating commercials, powters, and generally raising awareness across campus about the station and what it does. The mission of Purchase Television is to produce and broadcast telelvision shows as interesting, unique, and fun as Purchase students. PTV exists to provide members of the Purchase College campus community with an outlet of expression visible to all students while on campus.
Purchase Television was founded in 1997 by students wishing for another outlet of expression.
